A MUM has shared a shocking warning to other parents after looking behind the blind in her child's bedroom for the first time since summer.
Jardine explained that she'd first put up the Tommee Tippee blackout blind in the summer, and had forgotten to take it down.
"I haven't taken this down since the summer, which I should have to be fair, now it's the winter," she said in a video on her TikTok page.
"But let me just show you. I've just taken it down and I cannot believe what is behind."
She then pulled the blind to the side to show a huge crack which went right across the window.
"The window has smashed - from the heat I think in the summer," she said.

"So yeah, that's not going to be great to fix."
"Oh my God, it's all the way down there," she exclaimed as she saw that the crack was a lot bigger than she first realised.
And an added problem due to the crack is the fact that there is mould in the bedroom because of the draught.
"Because obviously there's air getting through, there's mould in the windows," Jardine continued.

"I cannot believe that this has happened.
"So yeah, just a warning if you've got this blind, make sure you're taking it down."
"I really should have known better," Jardine added in the video caption.
Other parents quickly commented on the video, with many admitting they'd had similar issues with blackout blinds.
"This happened to my grandchildren’s window too when there was a blackout blind fitted," one wrote.
"This happened to my sons window blackout blind & the heat cracked the window, window fitter confirmed this," another added.
"It's a well known thing to happen when using black blackout blinds,"a third commented.
"It’s the heat between the glass and the blind, it causes like a small green house effect.
"The room is just as warm in summer as it always would be."
"This exact thing has happened to my son’s bedroom window," someone else wrote.
"We got the whole 'no it has to have been hit' but it 100% had not!"
"It’s the black, absorbs the heat," another added.
"My son has a blind with the silver on one side and never had an issue and his room gets most direct sun."
"Happened to mine too, I was in the room when it happened heard 2 big cracks at first I thought it was a bird hitting the glass," someone else said.
"But it happened in winter."

"Have you not opened it at all since summer?" another questioned.
To which Jardine replied: "Yes the window has been opened, just never saw the cracks further down till today."
