When celebrities get hit with a DUI - driving under the influence - there is no way to hide from it because it becomes a matter of public record.
Stars are often filmed during their sobriety tests or the specifics of the arrest leaked online - such as Mel Gibson's shocking Anti-Semitic rant during his 2006 DUI arrest.
Then there is the dreaded mug shot, which is always unflattering and sometimes hysterical.
The latest star who was arrested for suspicion of a DUI is Tiffany Haddish, who was taken in for her second DUI in Beverly Hills last week when she was found asleep behind the wheel.
Others DUI veterans include Tim Allen, Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Justin Bieber, Nicole Richie and Khloe Kardashian.
Now DailyMail.com looks back at some of the stars that have been busted for DUI....

LINDSAY LOHAN
Lindsay Lohan is happily settled these days in Dubai with her husband of one year, Bader Shammas, and their baby boy named Luai, whom was born in July.
But her past was as topsy-turvy as it can get.
In May 2007 she experiences her first arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol.
She soon after checked into the Promises Treatment Center for 45 days.
But she did not get off easy: Upon her release, she was voluntarily fitted with a SCRAM sobriety monitor bracelet.
Things got much worse for the Mean Girls actress when she was arrested again weeks later for another DUI, felony possession of cocaine, and driving with a suspended license.

And it was messy: she had reportedly been pulled over by police after driving fast when in a car chase with the mother of her personal assistant.
In August, she pleaded guilty to misdemeanor cocaine use and driving under the influence. Lohan was sentenced to one day in jail, community service, an alcohol education program, and three years of probation. Then she entered rehab again for three months and served 84 minutes of her 1-day jail sentence, before she was released due to overcrowding.
In October 2009, Lohan's probation period was extended an additional year.
In May 2010, she missed a court date to go to the Cannes Film Festival. She was arrested and posted bail. A judge sentenced her to 90 days in jail, in addition to 90 days of inpatient rehab but she served only 14 days in jail due to overcrowding.
Lohan then entered an inpatient substance treatment center, at which she served 23 days of her 90 day sentence.
In September 2010, Lohan's probation was revoked after she failed a drug test. She spent the day in jail and was released on bail. Later that week, she entered the Betty Ford Center for treatment of substance abuse. She was released in January 2011.
Since then, she has had trouble with the law, but not for DUIs.
She seems to be on a much better track these days. Even her career is on an upswing as her TV movie Falling For Christmas was a hit. And there is talk of a Freaky Friday sequel
PARIS HILTON
She has so much money thanks to her reality TV show The Simple Life, her modeling career, and her movies like The Hottie & The Nottie - not to mention she is part of the Hilton family - that it was hard for Paris Hilton's fans to understand how she sunk this low.
In September 2006 police arrested Hilton in Hollywood on suspicion of driving under the influence after she was spotted 'driving erratically.'
Hilton was charged weeks later for misdemeanor driving under the influence.
Her lawyers entered not guilty pleas on her behalf to a single count each of driving under the influence and driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 or above.
Less than a week later, Hilton was pulled over again, this time by the California Highway Patrol.
She was informed that her license was suspended in connection with the September DUI charge and she'd signed a document acknowledging she was not supposed to drive.

Hilton pleaded no contest to a reduced charge of alcohol-related reckless driving.
The pleas earned her three years of probation and a $1,500 fine, and she had to enroll in an alcohol education program.
A month later was stopped by Los Angeles sheriff's deputies for driving at 70 mph in a 35 mph zone 'in darkness without her headlights on.' She also had a suspended license. There was event a document in her glove compartment acknowledging she was not supposed to drive.
The Los Angeles city attorney's office was furious.
They asked a judge to revoke the three-year probation sentence she received as a result of her January plea agreement. Hilton was recommended to serve 45 days in jail for violating the conditions of her probation.
She ended up serving 23 days in Lynwood prison in Los Angeles.
KHLOE KARDASHIAN
Before Khloe Kardashian reached mega fame, had two kids with Tristan Thompson and launched Good American, she was in hot water.
In 2007, the Keeping Up With The Kardashian veteran was arrested for a DUI in California.
The Kocktails With Khloe host was pulled over by police and failed several sobriety tests.
The sister of Kourtney and Kim Kardashian was initially ordered to do community service and complete an alcohol education course as her punishment.
She did complete her community service.
But the star - who would go on to romance Lamar Odom, who also got a DUI - ended up violating her parole by missing several sessions.

She said it was due to her busy career filming Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
Khloe was then sentenced to 30 days in jail and to complete an alcohol treatment program but she only spent three hours in jail due to overcrowding.
Khloe's representatives confirmed she had been willing to serve her full sentence.
Her rep said at the time: 'Khloe is ready and willing to serve out her sentence, no matter how long and where, and have this resolved.'
Her DUI ordeal was covered on her show KUWTK with her mother Kris Jenner seen reprimanding her.
Also, when the family was taking Khloe to court, Kim was filmed in the car posing nonstop for selfies.
That spawned Kris' famous line: 'Kim, would you stop taking pictures of yourself, your sister is going to jail.'
SCOTT DISICK
Kourtney Kardashian's ex partner Scott Disick has been taken in for driving under the influence as well.
Scott - who calls himself Lord Disick - was arrested for a DUI in 2001.
He was 18-years-old at the time and worked at a club on Long Island in New York where he grew up.
Scott pled guilty to the DUI charge.
Khloe Kardashian reminded fans that Scott had a DUI this year when she wished the TV star a happy birthday. The designer posted his mugshot next to hers on Instagram.

MEL GIBSON
In 2016 he was pulled over at 2:30 in the morning on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu for speeding - he was going 87mph in a 45mph zone.
He had an open container in his car.
Authorities said his blood-alcohol level tested at 0.12 percent. A California driver is legally intoxicated at 0.08 percent.
His arrest stood out as the Patriot star made anti-Semitic comments.
According to a law enforcement official who spoke on condition of anonymity, the sheriff's report says Gibson told the arresting deputy: 'The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world,' and asked him, 'Are you a Jew?'
The deputy's arrest notes reportedly also say Gibson tried to escape before being handcuffed.
Gibson was later charged with misdemeanor drunken driving. He pleased no contest to one misdemeanor charge of drunken driving and was sentenced to three years' probation with a requirement that he do a 12-step program for alcoholism.

He was ordered to pay $1,600.
The actor later said he was sorry to the Jewish community.
'I want to apologize specifically to everyone in the Jewish community for the vitriolic and harmful words,' Gibson said in a statement issued by his publicist. 'Please know from my heart that I am not an anti-Semite. I am not a bigot. Hatred of any kind goes against my faith.
In 2016, Mel said, 'It was an unfortunate incident. I was loaded and angry and arrested. I was recorded illegally by an unscrupulous police officer who was never prosecuted for that crime.
'And then it was made public by him for profit, and by members of — we'll call it the press. So, not fair. I guess as who I am, I'm not allowed to have a nervous breakdown, ever.'
NICOLE RICHIE
Remember the term Wrongway Richie? It comes from Nicole Richie's DUI arrest where she drove on the wrong side of the freeway.
In December 2006 she was arrested for DUI after being spotted driving her black Mercedes SUV in the incorrect direction on a Los Angeles freeway, a terrifying move as she could have gotten into a head-on collision and killed someone.
In July 2007 she pleaded guilty.
The Simple Life star served 82 minutes of a four-day sentence at Lynwood prison (the same place Paris Hilton was incarcerated) for DUI.
Her stay was short due to jail overcrowding, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
She was five months pregnant at the time with Joel Madden's baby. They are now wed and have two children: daughter Harlow and son Sparrow.
As part of her sentence, she also agreed to serve a three-year probation term.

'Miss Richie was cooperative during the process,' the statement said.
The statement added she was released 'based on her sentence and federal court guidelines.'
Under the current sheriff's policy, non-violent female offenders sentenced to 30 days or less are booked and released within 12 hours.
Richie was 'treated in the same manner as other inmates with a similar sentence,' the statement said.
She went on to become a fashion designer and star of TV shows like Chuck and Grace And Frankie.
AMANDA BYNES
Amanda Bynes was once the darling of Hollywood but then fell in some very public trouble.
In 2012, Bynes was charged with driving under the influence (DUI) in West Hollywood.
In 2014 the charge was dropped, and she received a three-year probation.
Then later that year she was arrested for a DUI in Los Angeles for a second time while in a Mercedes in the San Fernando Valley.
She stopped in the middle of an intersection which caused a CHP officer to approach her.
She was taken to the LAPD Van Nuys division where a drug recognition officer evaluated her and determined she was under the influence of a drug.
Bynes was charged with misdemeanor DUI and released on $15,000 bail.

Bynes was under a conservatorship run by her parents for years.
In February 2022, Bynes filed to end her conservatorship.
Her attorney stated that Bynes believed her condition was improved and protection of the court was no longer necessary.
Attorneys for her parents stated that they supported her in ending it and the conservatorship was officially terminated on March 22, 2022.
But not all went well.
On March 20, 2023, she flagged a bystander for help and called 911 following a psychotic episode in Los Angeles.
Bynes was placed on a 72-hour psychiatric hold.
On June 17, 2023, after she called the police indicating that she had thoughts of self-harm, mental health professionals determined that she needed inpatient treatment.
She left the facility on June 30 with plans for follow-up outpatient treatment.
This week she announced she is returning to the spotlight with a podcast.
JUSTIN BIEBER
Justin Bieber had a party phase long before he started romancing Hailey Baldwin, whom he wed in 2018.
The pop star was hanging out in Florida in 2018 with other musician and several models.
It seemed like a nonstop good time as he was seen at the beach and in clubs. He was only 19-years-old at the time.
But that changed in January 2014 when he was pulled over in Miami Beach and charged with drunk driving, resisting arrest, and driving without a valid license.
Police say they saw the singer driving a yellow Lamborghini in a street race before they pulled him over.
According to Miami Beach Police, Justin argued with officials during the arrest and failed a field sobriety test.

Tests later showed Xanax and marijuana in his system, although his alcohol level was under the legal limit.
In his mug shot, he appeared in an orange jumpsuit, grinning from ear to ear.
Months after his DUI arrest, Justin pleaded guilty to reduced charges of misdemeanor careless driving and resisting arrest.
He avoided jail time and was instead ordered to undergo a 12-hour anger management course, complete a DUI education program, pay fines and make a $50,000 charitable donation.
'7 years ago today I got was arrested, not my finest hour,' Justin said in 2021 as he looked back.
Justin continued, 'Not proud of where I was at in my life. I was hurting, unhappy, confused, angry, mislead, misunderstood and angry at god.. I also wore too much leather for someone in Miami.
'All this to say God has brought me a long way. From then til now I do realize something.. God was as close to me then as he is right now.'
TIM ALLEN
Tim Allen was the good guy on TV's Home Improvement, and even played everyone's favorite talking toy, Buzz Lightyear in the Toy Story franchise.
But he has had his troubles too.
The star has been arrested twice.
In 1978, he was arrested at age 25 by an undercover cop at the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport.
Allen and a partner were caught with over 650 grams of cocaine and subsequently arrested on the scene.

He ended up only serving a year, after getting early release in 2000 on the condition of posting bail.
Sheriff's deputies said he was driving erratically and appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.
During the traffic stop, officers found black tar heroin, crack and powdered cocaine and an unloaded .357 Magnum handgun in his pickup truck, deputies said.
They also determined Downey was under the influence of narcotics, but they did not release details as to which drug was suspected.
The actor was booked at the Agoura sheriff's station for investigation of possession of a concealed weapon, possession of a controlled substance and driving under the influence.

Downey was freed on $10,000 bail and ordered to appear for arraignment in Malibu Municipal Court.
He served a total of 15 months, plus parole and probation time. In December 2015, then-governor of California Jerry Brown pardoned him of the convictions.
Downey said on Dax Shepard's Armchair Expert podcast in June of this year that he was 'over-sentenced by an angry judge' who sent him to North Kern State Prison in Delano, California.
It came after the star failed to appear at several court-ordered drug tests tied to the cocaine possession charge.
'Two weeks later, I'm in a place called Delano, which is a receiving center where they decide where you're going to go. Arguably the most dangerous place I've ever been in my life because nobody is designated,' Downey said.
'If they're a level 1, 2, 3 or 4 criminal, [everyone's there]. You could just feel the evil in the air.
'It was kind of like just being in a really bad neighborhood, and there was no opportunity there; there was only threats,' he added. 'So, yes, everyone is going to take your wallet, so watch it.'
MISCHA BARTON
Mischa Barton was arrested and driving without a valid license for a DUI in West Hollywood on December 27, 2007.
The former star of The O.C. was pulled over at 2:46 a.m. after her vehicle was seen straddling two lanes of traffic and she failed to signal when making a turn, according to an L.A. County Sheriff Department statement.
'During Ms. Barton's detention, it was determined that she was an unlicensed driver and was driving while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage,' according to police.
'Ms. Barton was arrested and transported to West Hollywood Sheriff's station where the booking process was completed without incident.' The investigation is ongoing.
Shortly after 10 a.m., a West Hollywood deputy told PEOPLE: 'Ms. Barton has been released from sheriff's custody after she posted $10,000 bail.'

TIFFANY HADDISH
Tiffany Haddish was arrested for a DUI in Beverly Hills last week.
The Haunted Mansion actress, was placed in handcuffs on Friday morning after a very suspicious circumstance, according to TMZ. Police found the Hollywood comedienne asleep behind the wheel of her car when it was still running.
The vehicle was located in the middle of the busy street Beverly Drive, which is filled with stores like Pottery Barn and Sephora.
The call came from a concerned citizen at about 5:45am who was worried about the actress sleeping in her car in the early morning hours. Haddish was reportedly 'slumped over the wheel while the car was running,' the site claimed.
This is a second DUI arrest for the star who was found sleeping in her car in Georgia in January 2022.

In a video obtained by TMZ, the actress could be seen in a pink floral print sleeveless top with dark slacks and her hair worn very short. Her hands were behind her back and cuffed as she escorted to a patrol car. The site said her arrested was 'peaceful' with no resistance.
Before she fell asleep at the wheel of her car, Tiffany was trying to make people laugh. She had performed a stand-up set at The Laugh Factory on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood for the club's 43rd annual free Thanksgiving feast for the community. The Laugh Factory is about a 15 minute drive from Beverly Hills.
This is not the first time she has been arrested for falling asleep behind the wheel of a car. In January 2022 she was arrested under a similar circumstance for a DUI in Peachtree City, Georgia. The Night School actress was found 'dozing in the driver's seat' of her car, according to TMZ.
Soon after her mug shot was released where the star could be seen smiling as she wore her hair in a short gray buzz cut as she went makeup free.
The star has been in Georgia to shoot the film Haunted Mansion with co-stars Owen Wilson and Rosario Dawson for Walt Disney Productions.
Officers told the site they believed that she had been smoking marijuana. The site also looked at her arrest record which noted she had posted $1,666 to bond to get out of jail around 6:30 AM. The arrest took place around 4 am eastern time in Georgia, it was claimed.
Police approached the star's vehicle after a concerned citizen had called about a woman sleeping in her car. After officers woke her up, she was arrested for suspicion of a DUI as well as stopping on a roadway in a manner that was not safe for traffic.
Apparently Tiffany had not properly pulled off the road for her nap. It was also claimed that when police officers spotted her vehicle, she was just pulling off the road. By the time they looked in her window, she had already been resting, it was alleged.
Haddish was arrested by Peachtree City PD officers, police told the site. Peachtree City is the largest city in Fayette County, Georgia.
