Mexican international right back Julian Araujo will finally be able to make his dream move to FC Barcelona after a deal was agreed between his future club and his current team - LA Galaxy.

Araujo was initially set to join the Catalan giants in the January transfer window, however his deal was waylaid by pending transfers and confirmation from MLS.

But now, according to Fabrizio Romano, Araujo is expected to travel to Barcelona to finally confirm a contract until June of 2026. The deal is expected to cost $4million.

As a result, his paperwork was filed 18 seconds past the deadline and subsequent decisions from FIFA meant that Araujo would not be moving anywhere.

Per Mexican sports journalist Kery Ruiz, Barcelona delayed starting because 'they wanted to sell [Hector] BellerĂn first.'

While that move eventually went through, it delayed the finer touches for Araujo's deal - which proved costly.

According to ESPN, if Araujo's transfer had been sealed then the Mexican would've been registered to play for Barca's B team.

However, due to the club's current financial situation, it's possible that Barcelona would have had him play with the first team right away.

The 21-year-old has already played in 102 combined MLS matches, five US Open Cup matches, and two CONCACAF Leagues Cup matches.

He has two goals and 14 assists in his time with the Galaxy and their second team playing in the USL Championship.
