UPDATE: The two remaining suspects wanted in the arson of the Rock Island Livestock Auction Barn were taken into custody on Thursday, according to the Rock Island Police Department.
William Kosgard and Kadon Svec were arrested around 11:01 a.m. in the 1500 block of 9th Avenue in East Moline by the East Moline Police Department.
Kosgard and Svec are being held in the Rock Island County Jail on charges of arson, felony criminal damage to property and animal torture.
Suspect in Rock Island Auction Barn fire makes court appearanceEARLIER UPDATE: Rock Island Police have arrested one person in connection with the Rock Island Livestock Auction Barn fire and are looking for two more suspects, according to a news release from the Rock Island Police Department.
The fire on February 24 led to the complete destruction of the buildings, and the death of one of the cattle on the property. The Rock Island Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division and the Rock Island Fire Marshal’s Office conducted an investigation, which resulted in three suspects being identified, the release said.

Rock Island County Sheriff’s Office deputies apprehended Wooddell in the 500 block of 15th Avenue in East Moline on March 5 at about 1:53 a.m. He was taken to the Rock Island County Jail to await an initial appearance. He is being held without bond. Kosgard and Svec are still at large.
Kosgard is described as a white male, 5’ 08” in height, weighing 190 lbs.
Svec is described as a white male, 6’ 04” in height, weighing 194 lbs.
